I would definitely recommend this place for my friends and family to go whenever they are nearby. My family had a dinner last week and everyone loved all the dishes. Kimi was one of the best servers I have ever had at a restaurant and he was super friendly to my kids as well. We ended up ordering another dish of cod even though everyone was done. He really wanted more of the cod. I think he would’ve had several more dishes of the cod if we kept ordering it. A+++++++

Grabbed a simple lunch after going to the MET because this place was nearby. The service here is spectacular with attentive hosts that make great recommendations. The swordfish steak which was an off-menu special was the highlight of the meal, it actually saved the lunch considering the pesto fusilli tasted off (like tissue paper) and the shrimp linguine was so and so. The squash blossoms were okay, not as good as other spots I’ve had them in.

wowww the pasta was delicious!!! Really great food and drinks, and I loved the atmosphere of the place. Definitely going again!

Absolutely amazing - the food is sooo good and hard to believe the hospitality was as good. This place has been on my want to go list for a while. I called after a show and while the bar (where we like to eat) was full, they said “come on, by the time you get here, a seat should open. Little did we know, the bar only holds four and they had our seats saved. While it’s a small restaurant - the food is “mighty”! Wow, every bite was amazing. Oh, and the wine, is so reasonably priced!! A must try and not far off the train line. Update, two days later, still saying “what a great meal we had there”. Can’t wait to go back.

LOVED our dinner out at L'Osteria. I live in the neighbor hood and hadn't yet been - we were looking for just a no frills italian place with a great ambiance - L'Osteria was exactly that! Food was cooked perfectly and super flavorful - I had the Rigatoni with Sausage and mushrooms with a white wine sauce, and my partner had a veal chop - both were phenom. Finally - we had the best server - Castro - super warm, very attentive and provided awesome recommendations. We loved Castro and L'Osteria, and will def be back!

The food is excellent. Everything is fresh and cooked perfectly. The variety of choices is also terrific. Service is a bit spotty. The first time I was there, a waiter spilled a glass of iced tea on my guest. There was no apology and when the bill came, I was charged for two iced teas (even the replacement was not free!). The second time I went alone and sat at the bar. The waiter kept kicking my chair as he went by and I had to say something to him. There are just some elements of nicety they do not understand.

hola i have been there twice. everytime i go to the met with my friend and were out . this is the place we go for late lunch or dinner. service on point , food delicious, margaritas delish and the coffee express is the best i have had ever and i have tried in many places. would just go in for that alone. i will be going on my when in the area. the atmosphere is very calm you can hear yourself talk and that is with a full room. small but just right in all its senses. amore!!!!!!!!! maria my friend has the clams in a white wine sauce that she was over the moon. i had fetuccine bolognase with pork & beef and it was delicious.

First, the service was incredible. Every server was polite and accommodating; truly an Italian style of hospitality. Second, the food was superb. Burrata with a creamy interior on top of pimentos and eggplant. Cavatelli cooked to a perfect al dente with smooth pistachio sauce. And melt-in-your mouth tiramisu. All with a beautiful interior! If you've just gone to the Met and you're looking for dinner, go to L'Osteria!

Sampled some simple fare at this restaurant recently. It's the type of thing that is so simple it can sometimes be easily screwed up. The staff here hit it out of the park. I started with a fritto misto which was seafood and vegetables coated in a delicate ultra-light batter and lightly fried. It came out with no pools of grease and was light as a cloud. For my entree, I chose the cacio e pepe which was perfectly al dente with a fragrant black pepper and pecorino romano sauce. I asked for plain linguine with butter for my son. It came out as a good sized plate of al dente (but no over-the-top firm) linguine that was lightly coated in butter - no pools of questionable yellow goo. The waiter read his mind and grated some fresh parmigiano cheese on a side plate and let him add how much ever he wanted. Finished off with a nice vanilla gelato. Prices were a bit lofty for such simple items, even if we were on the UES.

My friend and I went for a light dinner and couldn't make a decision...so we ordered a salad and ravioli to share. The waiter was very kind to plate them on four small dishes for us. We sat outside on a beautiful evening with delicious food. What a UES experience!
